All Joking Aside

“We always tease, that’s just the way we are.”

The word says there is a time for everything under the sun and I’m sure teasing is no exception, but I’m learning (slowly and painfully) that the time for teasing is small; incredibly small… very small.

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:29‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Tease

Origin
Old English tǣsan (in tease (sense 2 of the verb)), of West Germanic origin; related to Dutch teezenand German dialect zeisen, also to teasel. Sense 1 is a development of the earlier and more serious ‘irritate by annoying actions’ (early 17th century), a figurative use of the word’s original sense.

I’ve done serious damage by teasing. I’ve been hurt by it s as well. All things considered, forgiveness and love reign supreme.

Still, let’s ask God to help us use teasing SPARINGLY if at all, love deeply, and build each other up.

So many people are one decision away from a better life. I want to help people. I'm here, I'm listening and I hope I can make a difference. I am eternally grateful for the people in my life who have always been willing to listen, pray for me and give advice. I hope to pay it forward.
